If you’re moving or have a road trip planned that includes transporting your pet, you might be dreading the inevitable fight to remove stray hairs from your upholstery when it’s all over. You can mitigate the worst of it with some preparation and a few cleanup tricks.
Pet carriers are designed to safely contain your pet, but they can also contain much of their fur as well. Brush your pet and spread a pet blanket or towel to protect the area where your pet will be staying.
For hairs that escape containment, you can vacuum with a rubber attachment that attracts fur to it, then clean up any residual hairs using a pair of rubber gloves and wetting the surface using a spray bottle. The gloves will catch loose fur as you rub your hands on your upholstery in one direction. Collect the rolls of fur this creates and throw them away.
