Cadillac ATS

The ATS Cadillac sedan is a decent size vehicle that was created to fit in tight spots and be light on the road. However, it is filled with luxury and performance highlights that out-do many other vehicles in the industry. The engine in this vehicle is a 2.0-liter engine, and it is equipped with 335 hp. The quiet engine helps to produce a smooth ride while picking up to high speeds quickly. The engine is also one of the best on gas, too.  The vehicle comes with eight speeds, and the driver can change speeds by accessing the small shifters on the sides of the steering wheel. The driver can also change speeds automatically. This allows the driver to be in control at all times. This also allows the driver to develop a pattern of getting to daily destinations in a quick amount of time.

At Landmark Cadillac we recognize that many of our customers in Springfield have or will have young children that will travel with them in their vehicles. We take vehicle safety seriously for all passengers. This is why we included some basic tips on how to select the proper car seat for a young child.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, children 12 months and under should always be put in a rear-facing car seat. This provides the maximum protection for your child. The NHTSA also recommends that you keep your child in a rear-facing car seat for as long as possible. Convertible and all-in-one car seats will let you keep your child in a rear-facing position for a longer period of time as they grow.

One your child has outgrown a rear-facing position, it is time to put them into a forward-facing car seat or booster seat. Children should be in a forward-facing car seat or booster seat until they are tall enough to put on a regular seat belt.

Air Filter

Understanding how to maintain your car is an important aspect of car ownership. This is why the team at Landmark Cadillac is providing information to current and potential customers in Springfield on how to maintain their car for optimal performance and comfort. Engine air filters filter prevent gunk from accumulating inside of the engine. The engine has an air intake valve that sucks in air which the engine needs to fuel the combustion process. Air is not pure and contains contaminants such as dust, smog, and dirt. The engine air filter removes this from the air coming into the engine and protects it.  The cabin air filter does a similar job but for the air that comes out through the AC vents in a car. It will remove dust, pollen, and other particles. Regularly changing both the cabin air filter and the engine air filter is a must to maintain air quality and to protect the engine.

Jumper Cables

At some point in time, vehicle owners endure the frustration of a dead battery. However, in most instances, the battery can be revived by being using the power from another vehicle. The front of the other vehicle needs to be as close as possible to the front of your vehicle. Nose to nose parking is recommended.  Both engines need to be turned off and the transmissions in the park position. Put the positive end of the battery jumper cable on the positive post of the dead battery. Apply the other positive end to the positive post of the other vehicle. Repeat the process with the negative cable ends. Start the engine of the vehicle having a good battery. Let the vehicle run for a couple of minutes. Try to restart the vehicle with the dead battery. Remove the cables. If unsuccessful after three tries, contact one of our Landmark Cadillac technicians.

Removing Vehicle Badges

Here at Landmark Cadillac, we want to help all of our customers in any way possible. If you’re planning on customizing a vehicle, we would hate to see it accidentally damaged. We’ve prepared some handy tips to help you to safely remove badges from your vehicle. First, find out how the badging is attached to your vehicle. If clips or rivets are used, you may need to do some minor bodywork afterwards. If an adhesive is used, hot water and a glue remover should do the trick. A hair dryer can also be used to warm up and loosen the adhesive. Once loosened, carefully remove the badges with a plastic wedge, a credit card or dental floss. After removing any remaining adhesive, you’ll want to thoroughly wash the area. Use a coat of wax to finish. For repair or service work, please pay us a visit at Landmark Cadillac.
